Peacekeepers are not meant to dream. Dreams signify unschooled thoughts and emotions. Our loyalty to High Command is supposed to be such that dreams are unnecessary.
It was always so much dren.
Iapos;m lying awake, not from a dream, but a nightmare. Itapos;s not unusual, my subconscious has a way of reliving unpleasant memories whilst I sleep and itapos;s not the first time Iapos;ve woken in a sweat.
Tonightapos;s was a replay of my finding Bialar. Visions of Talyn burnt and twisted and blood. So much blood.
He was right on the cusp of death. I can still taste the fear in my mouth. I can still feel how his skin was so cool and clammy. Still hear his strained breathing.
So Iapos;m sat on the bed, unable to sleep because Iapos;m watching him. As if the microt I take my eyes from him, he will slip away. His skin is warm, his breathing steady (frell heapos;s snoring), but I can still taste the fear in my mouth.
Sometimes I just draw him to me and hold on for dear life.
